Xpose's Karen Koster fears HOURS in labour – after such a smooth pregnancy so far

Xpose star Karen Koster fears she’ll end up in labour for hours – after such a smooth pregnancy.

The TV3 presenter and husband John McGuire are expecting their first child around December 25, and say it will be the best Christmas presenter ever.

However the 34-year-old admitted she is already planning for a difficult birth following her dream pregnancy.

She said: “So far, so good. Thankfully I’ve had no major symptoms or sickness. I’ve been able to go to work no bother and I’ve been feeling great.

“I’ll probably end up in labour for hours now to make up for it!”

The Ballymount beauty revealed she will be taking just six months off in maternity leave and expects someone to replace her, after Xpose became an hour long.

She added: “I’ll take the six months off anyway and I’ll go back. It’s hard to tell because it’s all new to me.

“I think they’ll need an extra pair of hands to help with the workload as the show is so big.

“The show producers haven’t told us anything though. They’ll keep their cards close to their chest.”

Now Karen is getting ready to finish up – and revealed that Michelle Doherty, who became a mum in August, has been great in offering her tips on motherhood.

She said: “Michelle has been brilliant. She’s said that, yes she’s wrecked and it’s exhausting but it’s also so wonderful, which is what you want to hear.”

Viewers will see Karen depart from the show in coming weeks – but Karen is already looking forward to the break.

She said: “I was off work last Friday and it’s strange because I don’t know what’s coming up for the day.

“But I sat down in a rocking chair I bought for when I have the baby and I was having a cup of tea thinking, ‘I could get used to it’.

“It’s great I’ll be able to see what they’re up to every day and what stories they have.

“I’ve been working for TV3 for 11 years so I don’t know how I’ll feel. I think I’ll enjoy the break.”
