Women Supporting Women – Irish stars take part in new female empowerment challenge

The stars are posting black and white images in the new Instagram challenge

Top Irish stars are participating in a new Instagram challenge about female empowerment and solidarity.

The Women Supporting Women movement involves posting a black and white photo of yourself, and nominating other women to join in on the viral trend with the hashtags #challengeaccepted and #womensupportingwomen.

Rosie Connolly, Bonnie Ryan, Amy Huberman, Laura Whitmore  and Una Healy are just some of the Irish celebs who have taken part in the challenge.

Rosie Connolly wrote: “Thankful for so many inspiring, encouraging and supportive women in my life ❤️ when women support women, that’s when the real magic happens????”

Bonnie Ryan also shared her appreciation for the movement, writing: “Women who support and build other women are my favourite ❤️”

Aoibhin Garrihy participated in the campaign, taking it one step further by donating to the charity Women’s Aid – which supports women affected by domestic abuse.

Meanwhile, Kathryn Thomas encouraged her followers to “believe in their capabilities and to be and do whatever the hell they want.”

Almost 7 million people across the globe have used the #womensupportingwomen hashtag, including Hollywood celebs such as Paris Hilton and Jennifer Aniston.

During the latest episode of #GossChats, social media star and TV presenter James Patrice addresses the recent cancellation of Dancing With The Stars, being single during lockdown and creating viral hits with his family.

Goss Chats is sponsored by top aesthetic clinic Haus of JeJuve.
