Westlife's Mark Feehily jets to week long bootcamp in bid to shift post-band pounds

Westlife star Mark Feehily has revealed he’s gone on a week-long detox in a bid to lose weight.

The Sligo singer has notably bulked up since the end of the band and their management’s strict diet rules.

Now Mark has just come back from a detox to France, shelling out a minimum of €3,100 for the chance to shed the pounds but said it was “far from being a bootcamp or any of the regular dreaded stuff”.

“You’ll be seeing a lot less of me! Just left the most amazing retreat / yoga / detox / nutrition week ever with Bodhimaya Detox,” he said.

“It’s so much more than just a detox. Fourteen of us with different goals and everyone catered for individually. Perfect way to end my impromptu trans European vacation.”

During the detox – which takes place in a castle in the South of France – he faced six days of “relaxation, detoxification and rejuvenation”.

And Mark faced his food being cut down significantly over the week – with broths and juices only on the menu.

“For the first three days on the Intensive Detoxification Programme your body will receive all the nutrition it needs from individually prescribed juices, healing broths and a light evening meal,” they explain.

“For the final days of the retreat you will be given three healthy and nutritious meals a day. During this phase of the retreat you will be given foods that are designed to heal and nourish the body.

“This type of detox allows the body to thoroughly rest, restore, rebalance and rejuvenate. It is a safe, gentle and highly effective detox.”
