Irish sprinter Rhasidat Adeleke has shared an incredible video of Rihanna “fangirling” over her.
The Olympian met the superstar singer at her Fenty Hair event in London on Tuesday night, and revealed that Rihanna has been following her on social media for years.
Taking to Instagram, the Tallaght native posted a sweet clip of RiRi’s excited reaction when meeting her.
In the video, Rihanna exclaimed, “I follow you!” as she pulled Rhasidat in for a hug before posing for photos together.
She captioned the post: “Fan girl moment meeting @badgalriri. Such an inspiration & forever breaking barriers in the industry⭐️.”
“My younger self would’ve never thought that Rihanna would be following me & my journey!❤️”
In a post on her Instagram Story, Rhasidat said Rihanna was a “real OG” and has been keeping up with her since 2022.
The 22-year-old added that it was a “pinch me moment”.
The Tallaght native has become one of the top sportswomen in Ireland, and has been dominating the world of athletics in recent years.
Earlier this year, Rhasidat won silver in the 400m sprint at the European Championships, and holds seven individual Irish national records.
At the 2024 Paris Olympics, she became the first Irish athlete to reach an Olympic sprint final – where she narrowly missed out on a medal in fourth place in the women’s 400m final.
She was also a part of the Irish women’s 4x400m relay team, who placed fourth in the Olympic final with a national record time of 3:19.90 at the Stade de France.
