WATCH: Ed Sheeran and Johnny McDaid perform at Irish wedding

Ed Sheeran and Johnny McDaid joined forces to perform at an Irish wedding over the weekend.

The musician pals performed together alongside Johnny’s band at his youngest sister Brid’s wedding in their hometown of Derry in Northern Ireland on Sunday night.

The reception took place at Beech Hill Country House Hotel, who shared a video of their surprise performance.

Belting out Snow Patrol’s smash hit Chasing Cars, the hotel said, “We’ve hosted some fantastic wedding bands but few like this….”

Johnny brought along his Friends star fiancée Courteney Cox to the wedding, and while rumours were rife that the pair were gearing up to exchange vows themselves – they were just in town for his sister’s nuptials.

According to Belfast Live, Courteney and Johnny stayed at the Culmore family home in Derry, and were spotted strolling along Queen’s Quay where they stopped to take pictures with locals.

They then popped into Sainsbury’s, where they stopped for a photograph with local teenager, Maebh Fisher.

“They were very pleasant,” Maebh’s Mum, Rosemary, told Belfast Live.

“But it was just a quick stop for a picture as we didn’t want to disturb them or draw too much attention to them,” she added.

The news comes after Courteney was recently in Ireland filming Bear Grylls’ Running Wild.
