Victoria Smurfit wins Best Actress at film festival

Victoria Smurfit was beaming last night as she was awarded Best Actress at the Independent Filmmakers Showcase.

The Dublin actress won the award for her role in Amnesia (Who Are You?) and was joined by director Paul Kampf.

Not only did Victoria win Best Actress but the film also won Best Dramatic Film at the movie festival.

The mum of two also celebrated the win with actress pal Sonya Macari. “Love this bird,” Victoria wrote on Twitter, sharing a photo with The Artist star, who is the sister of Dublin Housewives star Virginia Macari.

Victoria is now moving on to her next role, after Dracula was axed. The series, produced by and starring Jonathan Rhys Meyers, was cancelled by NBC just weeks ago.

While Victoria’s character was killed off at the end of the series, many fans believed she wasn’t really dead.

After hearing the news that Dracula was axed Victoria simply told fans: “Sorry Drac fans. You were wonderful.”
