Up for sale! Ryan Tubridy's home with ex Aoibhinn goes on the market

RTE star Ryan Tubridy has put the love nest he bought with ex-girlfriend Aoibhinn Ni Shuilleabhain on the market – admitting it’s now too big for him.

The former showbiz couple, who called it quits in December after four years together, bought the Monkstown home for €1.25million in 2013.

“Not long after I went in I realised it was bigger than I needed, it was too much. I need something cosier. This house is suited to a growing family,” he said.

The luxurious four-bedroom pad is being sold for €1.275 million and the single broadcaster said he was immediately smitten with 5 Brighton Avenue when he first viewed it.

“From the moment I walked in the place was very welcoming with its high ceilings and lovely hallway,” he told the Irish Mirror.

“In particular the front study and fireplace sang to me as bookish with a library feel.

“I love to run a fire all the time, it’s like a painting come alive, and the kitchen with the fireplace off it had that real cosiness.”

Although selling the Victorian terrace home, Ryan revealed he intends to stay in the area with something smaller.

“I would definitely go for old school with a modern twist again, but I don’t want a project,” he said.

“Between working five days, reading books for research and family commitments I’ve plenty on.

“I’d prefer to find something where someone else has been kind enough to do all the work already.”
