U2 have announced that they will play a free concert in London’s Trafalgar Square this week in celebration of being honoured at the MTV EMA’s this weekend.
The rock group will be honored with the Global Icon award at the MTV Europe Music Awards – with previous recipients being Green Day, Ozzy Osborne and Eminem.
The Mayor of London, Sadiq Khan said, “I have been saying, loud and clear, that London is open to talent, creativity and business.”
“What better way to showcase this than one of the world’s greatest rock bands performing to Londoners from all backgrounds, for free, in the heart of our great city?”

The show will take place in the Wembley Arena on Saturday, November 11th.
Rita Ora will be hosting the show with acts such as Stormzy, The Killers, Demi Lovato, Shawn Mendes, Camilla Cabello and Kesha set to perform.
