TV star Brian Dowling wants to come back to Ireland – to start a family and raise kids

TV presenter Brian Dowling has revealed he’s hoping to move back home to Ireland to raise kids.

The Big Brother winner, who is dating boyfriend of three years Arthur, is now based in London but has admitted he might make the move home eventually.

And the Kildare native – who is Tv3’s new gameshow host in Sitting On A Fortune – said children would be one reason for that.

He said: “I’m lucky I can commute back and forth and I’m home all the time. I like living in London, there are more opportunities, that’s probably the main thing.”

Home: Brian revealed he’d like his children to go to the same school he did

“I’m 36 now, so long term say within 10 years I might move back, when I was younger I thought I never would, but when you get older you think differently.”

“If I had children I’d like them to go to the same school as me and my sisters went to.”

Previously Brian admitted he wanted his partner to propose to him.

But growing up in Kildare, Brian admitted to the RTE Guide that he never wanted to work in TV.

He added: “My dream was to be an air steward. My parents sent me on a training course, and I applied to Ryanair, but I was too young.”

Big Brother: Brian won the Channel 4 show – before going on to present it

Instead Brian had seen a application for the first series of Big Brother – but his mother and boyfriend at the time told him not to do it.

And Brian admits he had intended on returning home after Big Brother, but was offered a job in television.

“It wasn’t part of the grand plan, which I’m glad about. For some TV presenters what they do is their whole life, their whole identity,” he said.

“For me it’s just a job. A good job. When I come home at the end of the day I have no problem taking off the costume and being myself.”
