Toy Show star Adam King set to receive a Pride of Cork award

Adam King is set to recieve a Pride of Cork award.

The six-year-old, who has brittle bone disease, captured the hearts of the nation when he appeared on The Late Late Toy Show back in 2020 with his virtual hug card.

Taking to Instagram on Saturday, Adam’s father reacted to the news that he would be receiving the award.

He wrote: “WOW…. This was just the nicest news to receive! Adam is receiving a Pride of Cork Award 😭😊💖”

Michael Mulcahy , Chairman of Cork Civic Life, said: “The Pride of Cork Awards are all about amazing people, amazing organisations and amazing communities doing amazing things in Cork and Adam King is one of those special little boys who has an amazing story of courage, determination and passion for making other people smile.”

Adam’s father said: “It is hard to know what to say when you read something like that – honoured. Truly, truly honoured.”
