Top Irish rugby player up for prestigious award

Jamie Heaslip is up for a huge award, as he’s set to go head to head for the World Rugby Player of the Year honour.

The vice-captain will go up against Beauden Barrett (New Zealand), Dane Coles (New Zealand), Owen Farrell (England) Maro Itoje (England) and Billy Vunipola (England).

The 32-year-old was previously shortlisted for World Rugby Player of the Year in 2009, but he lost out to NZ player Richie McCaw.
