Tommy Tiernan to replace Ray D’Arcy’s Saturday night slot on RTE

Tommy Tiernan is due to replace Ray D’Arcy’s Saturday night RTE slot.

Starting in the new year, RTE are looking for a sponsor for a new primetime slot featuring the comedian.

The are seeking €120,000 for the slot sponsorship, according to the Irish Independent.

Tommy’s new chat show is due to run from January until mid-March.

Ray’s talk show is due to finish up in late December after a five-series run as part of RTE’s recent reshuffle.

According to the publication, RTE is still hoping to create a female-led talkshow for Saturday night viewers.

Five different female presenters have been invited to screen-test for the show.

The show is rumoured to air late in 2020.
