Tommy Bowe opens up about becoming a father for the second time

Tommy Bowe has opened up about becoming a father for the second time.

The former Ireland and Ulster rugby star and his wife Lucy Whitehouse welcomed their son Jamie back in March, almost three years after the birth of their daughter Emma.

The presenter admitted fatherhood helped him to quickly adjust to his new early morning role on Ireland AM, which he began back in September.

“That’s one good thing, before the kids came along I couldn’t imagine getting up at the hour I am getting up at,” he told TV Now.

“When kids come along you definitely get used to the lack of sleep and that definitely makes the job a lot easier but it has been good.

“It has been a really busy year. Jamie, our son, came along, and he is going to be nine months in a few weeks time which is incredible.

“This has been pretty chaotic for everybody but I certainly have some brilliant memories which I feel fortunate to take out of 2020.”

Tommy proposed to his wife back in 2014, after three years of dating.

The couple tied the knot the following year in a stunning ceremony in Lucy’s hometown in Wales, where they first met.

The family-of-four live in Belfast, with Tommy commuting to Dublin for his Ireland AM gig.
