The Tommy Tiernan Show viewers praise ‘hilarious’ Liam Cunningham and The 2 Johnnies

RTÉ viewers enjoyed an evening full of laughter during Saturday night’s The Tommy Tiernan Show.

The comedian was joined by Irish actor Liam Cunningham, known for his role as Davos Seaworth in the HBO series Game of Thrones.

The 59-year-old discussed being famous in Ireland, telling Tommy: “There’s a healthy begrudgery here, isn’t there? I kind of like it.”

“When I’m walking down the street, [someone shouts], ‘think you’re bleedin’ great! You’re sh**e!’ I get that sometimes.”

“You wouldn’t be let get ahead of yourself, I have a healthy respect for that, to be honest. There’s no falsehood with it, it’s nice,” he added.

Tommy was also joined by comedy duo Johnny “Smacks” McMahon and Johnny B O’Brien, better known as The 2 Johnnies, who described themselves as “craic merchants”.

When asked what they do, Johnny “Smacks” replied: “I’d say podcasters, comedians, musicians, telly, jack of all trades.”

Johnny B added: “Do you remember when you were younger there would be fellas with a Bebo profile that said ‘full-time mad b*****?’ That’s us.”

Later on the show, Tommy spoke with nature activist Mary Reynolds.

Taking to Twitter, viewers admitted they were left in hysterics after the show.

One viewer tweeted: “What a great interview with Liam Cunningham. Couldn’t help but grin during that. A good laugh also. You’d swear the boys knew each other for years, the head on them.”

A second wrote: “Have to say @the2johnnies make me laugh out loud! #Tommytiernanshow #tippisnocork.”
