Speaking to the Herald, the popular reporter said, “There have been people who said they were inspired by that. I guess I am somebody who is in my 50s and I went through that journey four years ago. I had chemotherapy and radiation and all of that.”

“Here I am. I’m cancer-free and in a really good place. I’m fine and I would like to think I would inspire women of my age who are going through a cancer journey. It’s not a death sentence,” the viral star said.

Initially, Teresa didn’t want to reveal the fact that she had the disease, but she was encouraged to do so by show bosses.

The RTÉ reporter explained, “I wasn’t sure initially that I would mention the cancer but they felt it was an important part of my journey and that’s how the Kelly Clarkson song came about.”

“It has made me stronger. I don’t know where I got the courage to do this. I wouldn’t have done this four years ago, I absolutely wouldn’t have done it,” she added.
