Storm Éowyn has wreaked havoc on Ireland as overnight damage is revealed on social media.
With record-breaking gusts of 183 km/h and more than 715,000 people without power, Storm Éowyn is causing a number of Status Red wind warnings to be issued for the entire nation.
The storm was forecast to create harsh and hazardous circumstances that could endanger people’s lives and property.

Many people have taken to social media to highlight the damage done to their properties by the storm.
The ice rink in Blanchardstown was filmed earlier this morning in ruins as the strong winds destroyed the infrastructure.
In other parts of the country, over 715,000 homes, farms and businesses have been left without power.

In Co. Kerry, two families were forced to evacuate their homes after the roof of their house collapsed.
Speaking on RTÉ’s Morning Ireland Paul Neary, senior engineer with Kerry County Council, said: “The roof and gable of the house were very damaged so the two people had to be evacuated in the middle of the night and accommodation was found elsewhere for them.”
An account of X, formally known as Twitter titled Carlow Weather, has continued to document the damage done by the storm throughout the country.
