It has been revealed that Stephen Fry will not be investigated for blasphemy following his comments on Gay Byrne’s show The Meaning Of Life.
A complaint was made to the Gardai following the broadcast of his interview, and a statement was taken.
Garda sources now say that following consideration of that statement, a decision was made not to proceed with an investigation, as no injured parties came forward.

The person who lodged the complaint said that they were not personally offended, but felt it was their ‘civic duty’ to report it.
During said interview, Stephen told that Gay that he believed God is “quite clearly a maniac, an utter maniac, totally selfish.
“Why should I respect a capricious, mean-minded, stupid god who creates a world which is so full of injustice and pain? We have to spend our lives on our knees thanking him. What kind of god would do that?”
