Social media star Melanie Murphy reveals she’s given birth to her first child

The influencer announced her pregnancy back in March

Social media star Melanie Murphy has revealed she’s given birth to her first child.

The YouTuber has been documenting her pregnancy since March, and on Thursday, Melanie informed her followers that she was in labour.

The new mum is yet to officially announce her baby’s arrival on Instagram, but this morning, she told a follower on Twitter that she gave birth last night.

Twitter user @MariaCarletonYT tweeted: “I’ve been so invested in @melaniietweets pregnancy journey (as an expectant FTM) and now I feel like an anxious friend waiting to hear on how she is now shes gone into labour. Hoping she has a safe & healthy delivery of her little one!!”

Melanie replied: “Lying in hospital with a baby on my chest since last night 😍😭 Will update soon! Xxxx.”

Friends and fans were quick to congratulate her, including fellow YouTube star Anna Saccone Joly, who replied: “Omg congratulations!!!”

Melanie announced her pregnancy back in March, just days after she married her longtime love Thomas in a civil ceremony – after they were forced to cancel their big wedding due to the coronavirus pandemic.

Sharing the news on her Instagram page, Melanie admitted it was nice to have such happy news amid lots of “doom and gloom”.

Something’s been cooking… 👀 👶🏻🥰 After the PCOS scare, we both decided to start trying/to stop ‘being careful’~assuming it would take months to a year or more~in late December…then this little profiterole came along in January! Straight away! Like it was waiting! We both feel so incredibly lucky and have been through all of the emotions during the first twelve weeks…what a rollercoaster.
