Snow Patrol to write song about Courteney Cox for new album after Johnny's engagement

Snow Patrol’s Jonny Quinn has revealed the band are planning to write a song about Courteney Cox on their new album.

The Irish drummer told Goss.ie that the Friends star is “lovely” – and has only met bandmate Johnny McDaid’s fiance over Skype.

And Jonny hinted that Courteney and Johnny could be getting married next month, after revealing he was off to meet them in August.

“I’ve only met Courteney on Skype – quite a few times. She’s lovely. For being the megastar that she is, she’s quite a down to earth, lovely person actually,” he told Goss.ie.

“I’m going to see them in August to stay with them – but I can’t tell you about a wedding.

“No, I haven’t been told about the wedding. But I am so happy they met, it happened a very organic way.

“It was through Ed Sheeran, they were working on a movie together. They just met a few times by hanging out with other people. And it’s just gone from strength to strength – obviously, they’re getting married.

“Johnny is a lovely guy, I’ve known him for a very long time. I wish him all the best from him.

“I could see her influencing a song on the new album, you never know. It’s possible that could happen.”

He was speaking to Goss.ie at the launch of Guinness Amplify.
