Snapchat star James Patrice, aka James Butler, has landed a huge gig with RTÉ.
The Dubliner, best known for his hilarious antics on Snapchat, has been revealed as RTÉ One Social’s Glitter Guru for the much-anticipated Dancing With The Stars.
The show, which will be hosted by Amanda Byram and Nicky Byrne, will see a total of 11 celebrities put to the test as they pair up with professional dancing partners.
James took to Instagram to announce his exciting news, writing, “So gals, I’m sweatin’ to finally say that I’ll be RTE One Social’s #GlitterGuru for Dancing With The Stars!”
“I’ll be going backstage across @rteone Facebook, Snapchat and Instagram getting all the glitz and goss,” he said.
The news comes after an amazing year for James, after he picked up the awards for Best Newcomer and Best Snapchat Star at The Gossies 2016 back in February.
Dancing With The Stars will air on RTÉ One for 12 weeks from 6.30pm Sunday 8th January.
Each pairing will have a different dancing genre to master every week, from the cha-cha to mambo to tango – and they’ll have just seven days to perfect their routine before performing live to the nation.
They will be the scored by an expert panel of judges and the viewing public at home. All the contestants will be safe for the first two shows, but after that one celeb and their dancing partner will leave the competition each week.
