Ryan Tubridy has revealed Baz Ashmawy will temporarily replace him on RTÉ Radio 1 in the coming weeks.
According to RSVP Live, the broadcaster is taking the next three weeks off the airwaves, before The Late Late Show resumes later this year.
Oliver Callan will take over from Ryan for the first two weeks, before Baz steps in to host the show for the third week.
Bidding farewell to his listeners this week, Ryan said: “I’m packing my bags and getting out of your hair for a few weeks.”
“And by the time I get back I’ll be heading towards the reality of Late Late Show and Toy Show, and everything else that is going to happen when schools come back and relative, I hope, normality and audiences and excitement.”
“But before that, I’ve got a heap of books I want to get through and read and relax and turn it all off. Go off grid for a little while and enjoy the liberty of that.”
