Ryan Tubridy invited to appear in documentary about Meghan Markle

The "old friends"met three years ago

Ryan Tubridy has been invited to appear in a documentary about Meghan Markle.

The Late Late Show host revealed on air on The Ryan Tubridy Show this morning that he has been approached by filmmakers in the UK to take part in a documentary about Meghan Markle and Prince Harry.

Ryan and Meghan met through mutual friends in Washington three years ago, when the RTÉ star was visiting for St Patrick’s Day – and when he spoke about meeting her previously, he jokingly referred to her as an “old friend”.

However, it seems like Ryan’s description of the actress as an “old friend” was taken more seriously than anticipated.

Ryan posted a throwback photo of him and Meghan Markle to Instagram a few hours ago, and explained once again how they met while on air this morning.

Ryan told listeners that he spent roughly ten minutes with the Suits actress and they got a photo together, however, he lost the photo until now – and thought that his latest Instagram snap was in perfect timing with the recent Royal engagement news.

Speaking previously about their meeting, Ryan said, “There I was at the White House for the Patrick’s Day ceremony and I bump into Mr John Fitzpatrick who runs these great hotels in New York. He said this is my friend Meghan and he said, ‘do you know Meghan?’”

“She’s particularly pleasant. Great fun. We did photographs, we were all giddy because we were at the White House. There was a nice buzz in the air.

“It was glorious March sunshine and then fast forward a year and I see, there’s my old friend Meghan, as she is now, and will be forever more,” he added.
