Ryan Tubridy hints at The Late Late Toy Show’s theme

Ryan Tubridy has dropped a hint at what this years’ The Late Late Toy Show theme will be.

The presenter opened the application lines earlier this month, asking listeners of The Ryan Tubridy Show to begin applying for the highly anticipated show.

Today, he has hinted at the theme of the show – telling his Radio 1 show listeners that it would be “delicious and different”.

“We’ve got the character decided upon; we’re ahead of ourselves,” he shared.

Ryan admitted that there would be a “really careful, COVID-conscious opener and full Toy Show”, and said that he attended his “first costume check” last week.

“People were concerned: ‘Is it going to happen or not?’ Not only is it happening, but the costume check went really well. And the character’s good, the opening’s going to be delicious, and different.”

Taking to his Instagram stories, he told his followers: “I’m in the costume department of RTÉ and this is where you get all the clothes for Fairy City and different things like that and today I’m here to have a costume fitting for the Toy Show.”

Ryan promised this year’s show would be “the most remarkable Toy Show that we have ever put together.”

“It’s going to be like something you’ve never heard or seen before. You won’t be able to even guess because I was onto the North Pole, I don’t have a direct line to your man, but I do have contacts with the diplomatic corps and the Big Man is getting very excited about having to Covid his way through Christmas.”

“There are regulations in place this year and he made contact to say make sure the Long Fella, as he calls me, in Ireland does that show because those children need it more than ever because they deserve some sunshine in their lives.”
