RTE star Ryan Tubridy has claimed that “work is his friend” since his split with long term love Aoibhinn Ni Shuilleabhain.
The Late Late Show host shocked the country just before Christmas when he announced he had ended things with the former Rose of Tralee.
But Tubs, 41, admitted he has decided to get over his heartbreak by sinking himself into his job.
He told Goss.ie: “I’m really enjoying it, loving going to work. Do you know when you get one of those purple patches in your life and think work is great? Work is my friend.”

“I’ve had quite a good roll of the dice for the past few months, I’m really enjoying work immensely and I’m putting more time into it behind the scenes,” he said at the BT Young Scientist.
“I feel even more curious about people and guests, it’s good I’m on quite a creative buzz at the moment.”

And the presenter also revealed that he has been working on a children’s book, which has been “a beautiful distraction” – especially after getting an illustrator on board.
He added: “I just did a first second draft of it on Monday and it’s really cute and old school and niche. But it won’t appear for about a year… it’s a gorgeous side project for me.”
