Ryan Tubridy has announced he is taking an extended break from RTÉ, admitting he is “leaving to recharge”.
The TV presenter confirmed he will be taking a longer than usual break from his RTÉ Radio 1 show.
“I’ll be heading off for a few weeks somewhere as of ten o’clock this morning,” he announced on his radio show this week.
“It has been a bonkers run really, hasn’t it? Since last September to up until now. I’m going away to – when I say go away, no one’s going away.”
The Late Late Show host added that he will head to his usual holiday spots of Connemara and on the Wild Atlantic Way. “I’ll go West, young man. I’ll go West,” he told listeners.
Ryan will return in six weeks time, admitting he will “have a big job on his hands”.
“I’m leaving to recharge and regenerate and to reflect and to get my head together.
“Because when we come back for radio and television duties I think we’re going to have a big job on our hands when we get back for all sorts of reasons,” he added.
