Ruth Negga bags ANOTHER major award

Ruth Negga picked up yet another honour in the US over the weekend.

The Irish-Ethiopian actress, who was raised in Limerick, has received and been nominated for a number of major awards for her role in Loving, including a BAFTA Rising Star Award and an Golden Globe and Academy Award nomination.

Continuing on her awards streak, the 35-year-old was honoured with the Virtuoso Award at the Arlington Theatre in Santa Barbara on Saturday.

Wearing a stunning black lace crochet dress, Ruth was honoured alongside Dev Patel (Lion), Naomie Harris (Moonlight), Aaron Taylor Johnson (Nocturnal Animals), Mahershala Ali (Moonlight), Janelle Monae (Hidden Figures and Moonlight), Simon Helberg (Florence Foster Jenkins) and Stephen McKinley Henderson (Fences).

The Virtuoso Award was created to honour a select few of “up-and-coming” actors every year, who have attracted the attention of critics with breakthrough performances.
