RTÉ’s Getaways cancelled after nine years

RTÉ’s Getaways has been cancelled after nine years.

Vogue Williams, Mairéad Ronan, Tommy Bowe and Joe Lindsay won’t be returning for another season of the travel programme as an RTÉ spokesperson revealed that it was axed.

“Getaways will not be shown by RTE next year. We have no plans to replace it. It is up to the BBC what they want to do with it,” they told the Sunday World, as the programme was co-produced by BBC Northern Ireland.

Dancing with the Stars winner, Mairéad told the publication: “There is a new show on, Celebrity Globetrotters, and a lot of shows are going that way, they’re not really presenter-led.”
