RTÉ refuse to comment after removing Amanda Brunker from Today show panel

RTÉ have refused to comment after they removed panelist Amanda Brunker from yesterday’s episode of the Today show at the last minute.

The 42-year-old has been a regular on the show for the past two years, and has covered a number of red carpet events for the programme.

However, late on Monday night the former Miss Ireland was told that she was no longer needed to appear alongside panelist Neil Prendeville on Tuesday’s show.

The news comes after Amanda and Neil got into a spat last week while discussing the recent penalty points scandal.

Amanda then appeared visibly frustrated when discussing the Daily Mail’s recent ‘Legs-It’ front page, which caused controversy as it focused on Theresa May and Nicola Sturgeon’s legs.

The TV star later accused Neil of mansplaining and talking over the presenters in the Herald, and sources say Neil was upset by her comments.

According to the Herald, RTÉ refused to comment on the issue when contacted.

Meanwhile, Amanda has insisted that she was perfectly happy to appear on the show alongside Neil.

“This has been going on for ages but last Tuesday I just snapped and said, ‘Neil this isn’t your show, you can’t just keep talking over me’,” she said.

“It can’t be one person just talking the whole time but of course he ignored that. I’ve had the gig for the last two years and I enjoy being a panellist on the show so it was kind of annoying that I wasn’t allowed do it,” she added.

However, Neil refused to comment on the matter by saying, “It has got nothing to do with me.”
