Jennifer Maguire has admitted she is only taking ten weeks off for her maternity leave.
The RTE host is due to give birth in the coming weeks, and revealed she will have to go back to work sooner than most, as she is just a contractor for the station.
The 2FM presenter said she’d love to take off a few months, but it’s not possible.
“Other mums can take six months or a whole year off but that’s just not possible for me,” she said.

“I’d love to take more time off but I can’t because I’m self-employed.”
Jennifer, 34, added that she can’t take off extra time even if she wanted to, as she has to pay the bills, but actor husband Lau can be a stay at home parent.
“I’d love the time to spend with the baby but, not getting any maternity benefits, it’s just not an option because mortgages and bills have to be paid.

“That’s just the way it is,” she told the Herald.
“At least I won’t have to leave the baby in a creche. Because Lau and I are self-employed, Lau can look after the baby at home.”
