Dancing with the Stars spin-off show Can’t Stop Dancing has been axed by RTE.
The cancellation comes as the latest in a number of changes for RTE.
Can’t Stop Dancing host Bláthnaid Treacy blamed the axing on budget issues.
“I’m disappointed that CSD isn’t coming back, I had an amazing three years fronting the show, but unfortunately due to very tight budgets it won’t be back,” she told The Irish Mail on Sunday.
“I’ll still be tuning in every Sunday to watch, it’s such an incredible production and I’m proud to have been part of it.”
Shinawil Production’s Larry Bass explained that the show will be missed.
“We shall miss Can’t Stop Dancing, but with the ongoing pressures on RTÉ revenues, there had to be some way of finding revenue for the main show,” he told the MoS.
“It is sad that fans of the show will not get to share the backstage elements, but watch out for social around the series, we are ramping this up with RTÉ Social.”
