RTÉ announce legendary radio presenter Larry Gogan is stepping down from 2FM

The presenter has worked within RTÉ since 1961

RTÉ have announced that legendary radio presenter, Larry Gogan, is stepping down from his regular show on 2FM.

The presenter has been hosting his own show on RTÉ 2FM, since 1979, when the station was known as RTÉ Radio 2.

Larry is not leaving RTÉ Radio altogether though, as he is moving onto RTÉ Gold to continue his broadcasting career.

The presenter will host his last show on RTÉ 2FM on 31st January and will continue the ‘Golden Hour’ on RTÉ Gold, weekdays at 1PM.

“I have loved all my time on 2FM and would like to thank all the amazing support from all my listeners, great colleagues and all the fantastic Irish and International artists I have been privileged to support and be a part of their success. I am thrilled to be moving over to Gold full time and being part of that exciting new digital world,” the presenter said in a statement from RTÉ.
