Jennifer Zamparelli has revealed that she’s paid the exact same amount as her male co-hosts Keith Walsh and Bernard O’Shea.
The presenter’s comments come as RTÉ deals with a gender pay gap row, after newsreader Sharon Nà Bheoláin admitted that she was paid €80k less than co-anchor Bryan Dobson per year.Â
Speaking to the Sunday Independent, Jennifer revealed that her Breakfast Republic co-hosts were the ones to insist on their pay to be equal.
“We were entering into a partnership of three people doing the same thing, so it’s something we discussed in advance. I think it came from them, not me.”

Speaking about the gender pay gap row, Jen said, “There are so many variables. I’m sure there have been discrepancies with talent where they are the same sex and getting paid differently.”
“Some people come with a huge fan base and might bring more to the table with their experience or their profile, or whatever.”
The brunette, who is expecting her second child, also spoke about how her life has changed since becoming a mum.
“We thought we’d be that cool couple who still go to Electric Picnic. But you know having, partied so long, and partied so hard for so long – I can barely remember my 20s – the change was kind of welcome in a way.”
