Roz Purcell has candidly expressed her concerns about having children.
The 29-year-old, who is in a longterm relationship with music promoter Zach Desmond, has admitted she isn’t feeling broody – and doesn’t know if she wants to have kids at all.
Speaking to the Irish Mirror, Roz said: “I have two older sisters – 32 and 37 – and they haven’t had kids yet.”
“We were never really brought up with the idea that our lifespan was to get married and have kids.”
“My parents brought us up to be very much work focused – not like work, work, work. But, I guess, thinking very much like we don’t have to do the ‘normal’ things because you can do whatever you want,” she continued.
“I have never been someone who has had that life plan set out like, ‘I’ll be married when I’m 30 and I’ll have a kid.’ I’ve just been like, ‘I’ll do it when I’m ready.’
“And even if I don’t want to do it that’s cool as well. I don’t even know if I can have kids, do you know what I mean? I never really like to plan ahead.”
Roz confessed: “I have a concern when it comes to having children. And my concern would be with climate change and the future.”
“I’d have a big deep worry about bringing another human into a future where the next 50 years isn’t looking too good.”
