Roz has become an advocate for cancer awareness after her sister, Rachel was diagnosed with leukaemia in 2016.

The former Miss Ireland opened up about her own experience with pre-cancerous cells amid the cervical cancer scandal earlier this year, she said: “I would have been one of those people that would get scared, and would have put it off.”

“But I got to a stage where I was like I need a reminder every year and just get everything done because it is more the anxiety of just putting everything off but I think as a nation we are just bad as putting things off and off saying, ‘ah we’re grand’.”

She also emphasized the importance of smear tests: “I’ve had smear tests come back bad and I had stuff removed but I was really lucky that I was just on it and I listened to my body and I was lucky that I had symptoms because I know a lot of the time you don’t get symptoms.”
