Rosanna Davison has recalled the shocking moment she found out she was having twins, following years of fertility issues.
The former Miss World and her husband Wes Quirke suffered 14 miscarriages before Rosanna fell pregnant with twins during the first coronavirus lockdown.
The 36-year-old went on to give birth to identical twin boys, named Oscar and Hugo, in November 2020.

Rosanna has now written a book about her journey to motherhood called When Dreams Come True, which was published today.
To celebrate the launch, the model mum shared an extract from the book on Instagram, which details the moment she found out she was expecting two babies.
Rosanna wrote: “May 7 arrived and I woke early to drive to the National Maternity Hospital in Holles Street for my third scan in as many weeks.”
“The streets were deserted in the height of the first lockdown, and it felt strange to be venturing out of the safety of my home.”
“I was stopped at a Garda checkpoint on the way into the city centre, and they ushered me through when I told them that I was on my way for an early pregnancy scan.”
“Even saying the words out loud filled me with a tingle of excitement. I couldn’t wait to see how my little embryo was doing.”
“At the hospital, while I rolled my top up over my stomach and settled myself on the bed, the consultant and I chatted about the lovely weather and the strangeness of Covid as he squirted on the ultrasound gel.”
“There was a silence while he swished the transducer over my tummy. ‘Oh,’ he said. I had already spotted the embryo with its tiny pulsing heartbeat, but there was another strange shape to the left of it.”
“‘There are two, aren’t there?’ I said, shrieking. ‘Just let me check,’ he calmly replied, peering closely at the image.
Rosanna concluded: “Up on the screen, we could see the embryo that we’d examined in such detail the first time, and then he moved the wand across and there it was, another embryo. ‘Yes, it’s twins,’ he said. ‘Holy shit!’ That was all I could think of to say!”
The 36-year-old fell pregnant with twins just months after Rosanna and Wes welcomed their first child, Sophia, via gestational surrogate in November 2019.
The mother-of-three is set to appear on the Late Late show tonight (Friday) to discuss her new book.
In an Instagram post, she said: “If you’re near a telly tonight, I’ll be on @latelaterte speaking about motherhood, miscarriage, family life with three under two and, for the first time, the extraordinary set of circumstances that led to Hugo and Oscar coming into the world 🥰🌈💙.”
