Rory McIlroy has confirmed that he’ll wed fiancée Erica Stoll next summer.

The 27-year-old, who first met PGA employee Erica back in 2013, admitted that the pair will tie the knot in 2017, according to The Telegraph.

“We want  to keep it to ourselves as much as we possibly can.

“Erica loves Ireland. It’s very similar to  the place where she grew up, in Rochester, upstate New York, where it’s also very green and leafy,” he said.

It’s rumoured that the pair are planning on celebrating their nuptials at Ashford Castle in Co. Mayo, but nothing has officially been confirmed.

The pro-golfer also admitted that Erica has helped him realise what he needs in life, and allows him to be a “normal person”.

“It’s a bit like yin and yang, in terms of what  I do on the course and how, when I get home, I’m able to detach myself and just be a normal person.

“It’s great to have that balance, and Erica has given me that. She has made me realise that this is what I want, what  I need,” he told the paper.

The news comes after Rory recently pulled out of the 2016 Olympic Games, due to fears surrounding the Zika virus.
