Rex Ryan is set to take to the stage in a lead role in The Gonzo Theatre Company’s new play Pilgrim.
The play is written by award winning writer Philip Doherty and will be performed at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival this August.
Pilgrim previously ran as part of The Tiger Dublin Fringe Festival 2014 where he nabbed the gong for Dublin Fringe Best Actor.

The play is an Irish man’s search for his identity through the harsh landscape of a world in turmoil by 9/11.
Christopher embarks on a wild pilgrimage home for the birth of his son, but is relentlessly thwarted by outside forces.
The adventurous story takes the audience through a haunting soundscape, breathtaking visuals and outlandish characters with allusions to classical myth.
Pilgrim runs from August 5-16, 18-23,25-31 in Pleasance Courtyard in Venue 33.
It comes after Rex previously revealed he wouldn’t have become an actor had his dad Gerry not given him the acting bug.
