Ray D’Arcy Show ratings down as The Late Late Show sees new season success

RTE’s Ray D’Arcy is reportedly facing a setback after ratings for his TV show fell by 73,000.

The radio host is currently in contract negotiations with the national broadcaster.

An industry source told The Irish Sun: “These ratings couldn’t come at a worse time for Ray given he’s trying to negotiate a new deal with RTE.”

The new season of the show pulled in 222,300 viewers.

Ray previously explained that he was happy to take a pay cut from his annual wage.
“I’ll find out next week. I’m in negotiations, but I imagine there is and I have no problem with that,” he said.

Ryan Tubridy’s Late Late Show is faring better in the ratings department, with 478,000 tuning in to the new season.

However, the RTE source told the Irish Sun that as The Late Late Show and the Ray D’Arcy Show “are on different nights and of different duration, no comparison can be made.”
