Rachel Gorry has opened up about an “amazing” conversation she had with her late husband Daniel through a psychic.
Rachel’s husband of eight years was diagnosed with oesophageal cancer in September 2018 – and sadly lost his battle on April 1, at the age of 29.
As it approaches his 30th birthday this week, the mother-of-three decided to attend a medium on Tuesday in the hopes of being able to speak with Daniel.
“I know it sounds a bit mad but I feel like I’m going to be able to have a conversation with Daniel today,” she told her Instagram followers ahead of the meeting, “He better not stand me up!”
After meeting with the psychic, Rachel opened up about the “amazing” experience she had: “I really needed to hear everything that she had to say.”
“She knew things that nobody knew. She knew things that just my family knew. She knew conversations that I had only had with Daniel. I don’t want to go into detail about some of the things because I want them kept private.”
“His sense of humour came across, and she was like ‘he’s so funny’. I was balling, I was laughing, it was just really really lovely,” she shared.
“She knew things that were in the letter that Daniel wrote me, and she knew that I wrote Daniel the night before his funeral and put it in his coffin with him. He still has it with him.”
“She mentioned a teddy bear that the girls put in with Daniel which he also still has with him,” Rachel continued.
“She told me he was saying to ‘Stop the whinging’, which he used to always say to me when he was alive. It was just so lovely to hear some of the things he said.”
“She also said that I’m going and I’m going and then it hits me like a truck with the grief, and then I’m really sad. When that happens, Daniel is telling me to think of all of the times that he wrecked my head and drove me mad.”
Through tears she added: “Daniel used to always say that to me when he was alive. I would say ‘How am I going to live without you?’ and he would say ‘Just think of all the times I drove you mad’.”
“I got great comfort from it today. I always take things like that with a pinch of salt because I am on Instagram and you never know as some stuff is common knowledge to people.”
“But she knew things that nobody knew. It’s after really given me the lift that I need,” she admitted.
Rachel spoke about an amazing moment where the medium told her that someone was going to sing online for Daniel: “I came out and I said it to [my sister] Aimee and she just burst out crying.”
“Aimee had recorded herself singing a song for Daniel and was going to post it online on Friday for his birthday. She asked Daniel the night before ‘If you’re happy and you’re safe, will you mention the song to Rachel when she goes to the fortune teller?'”
“It gave me the verification I needed that he is somewhere and that he is okay, which was really nice to hear.”
“It gave me the lift I needed ahead of Friday, because him turning 30 has been devastating for me but now I’m going to try treat it like a big celebration because that’s what he would have wanted.”
Rachel added: “I’m not going to say that I’m not going to get upset, I’m not promising anything! But I’m going to try and honour him.”
