PICS: Today FM’s Ian Dempsey says ‘I Do’ for Dare To Care

He wore a wig and all...

Today FM’s Ian Dempsey donned a wedding dress for Dare To Care this morning.

As part of the stations Dare to Care campaign in aid of the Irish Cancer Society, Ian pledged to present his show in front of a live audience in a wedding dress today for ‘Wedding Dress Wednesday’.

Ian was joined by a bevy of brides for his ‘Bridal Breakfast Show’ in 25 Fitzwilliam Place this morning – and everyone who attended wore their wedding or bridesmaid dress to show their support for Wedding Dress Wednesday and Dare to Care.

While Ian presented his radio show, makeup artist Yvonne Maher applied a full face of bridal make up including false eyelashes.

Ian’s sidekick Mario Rosenstock also got involved and wore a full length black lace gown, entertaining the audience in the guise of Joan Burton while singer Declan O’Rourke serenaded the crowd with wedding favourite ‘Galileo’.

Walking down the aisle to Shania Twain’s ‘Man, I Feel Like a Woman’, Ian Dempsey wowed his audience of brides with his floor length white gown complete with veil and a pair of killer heels!

This is the second year of ‘Wedding Dress Wednesday’ which sees women all across the country dig out their wedding dress or bridesmaid dress and wear it for one whole day, whether to work, the shops or the school gates.

Each ‘bride’ raises money for cancer in the process and Today FM are asking people to text DARE to 50300 to donate €4.

Last year Ian Dempsey got tattooed live on air as part of the fundraising campaign after reaching his target of €25,000.

Today FM launched its annual Dare to Care campaign in aid of the Irish Cancer Society earlier this month.

Now in its second year, Today FM along with presenters and listeners is hoping to raise €500,000 in the fight against cancer.
