PICS: Protesters present as Hillary Clinton receives honorary degree from Trinity College

Hillary Clinton jetted into Dublin this week to receive an honorary degree from Trinity College.

While she was here she also had discussions with Leo Varadkar about gender equality and world affairs.

The former First Lady received the Honorary Doctorate at Trinity College Dublin from Chancellor of the University, Mary Robinson – who she later had a public lecture with about the current challenges facing America and women in politics.

Other people honoured were US philanthropist Dr James Simons; President of the Confederation of British Industry, Paul Drechsler; Archivist at the Irish Architectural Archive, Ann Rowan; and co-founder of the Young Scientist Exhibition, Tony Scott.

Hillary’s presence saw protestors gather in Trinity College as she was awarded the prestigious honor.

Protestors carried placards that read, “Blood on your hands,” and “Lock her up.”
