Charlie Bird chatted to Ryan Tubridy on the Late Late show tonight – but it was Tiger, his pooch, that outraged viewers.
The journalist explained on the show that his wife was the one who originally wanted a dog and she was interested in getting a cockerpoo.
The broadcaster admitted that his wife told him, “I’m not buying it from a car park, I’m not buying it from a website, I want to see where the dog comes from.”

However, Charlie revealed that he unknowingly bought his dog without properly researching where his pooch came from and came on the show to advise people to look into where their dog comes from.
“I saw on the website that this was a small family run kennels. Eventually we left and we decided we would get Tiger,” he told Ryan Tubridy on the Late Late Show.
“And within ten days, somebody told us that where we bought the dog was not a small family run kennel.
“I discovered that they had maybe between 70 to 100 breeding bitches. ”
People hit out towards Charlie and slammed him for choosing to buy a dog – but there were waves of people who were delighted to see Tiger on the show.
