People are calling for Conor McGregor to run for president – as voters head to election day

Today is the day the country will vote in the Presidential Election, and while there have been extensive debates with six candidates, some people tried to add Conor McGregor into the Presidential race.

Fans took to Twitter today to ask The Notorious to run for President of Ireland, with one voter actually adding in his name on a ballot card.

“What we need is a real president @TheNotoriousMMA,” the user wrote before sharing a photo of his card which had a stick drawing of Conor as well as the words “Dublin 12.”

And others have been tagging the fighter and businessman asking him to join the race:

Whether Conor eventually decides to turn his attention to politics in the future, right now he is focused on his new whiskey business Proper No. Twelve.

The father-of-one just completed an American promo tour of the brand, and took to Instagram to share an inspiring message to others trying to follow their dreams.

“Last week was a proper proud moment for me loading up the very first @properwhiskey delivery truck,” he wrote.

“I have gone from building sites to boxing rings. From welfare Q’s to UFC cages. I’ve been through it all and I keep on trucking!

“It doesn’t matter whether you are a plumber, a fighter, a first responder, a teacher, a bartender, or an entrepreneur…if you put in the work and live life with passion, belief and love for others, it is all you need.

“Sláinte to all of you! #OneForAll.”
