Paul Mescal jokes about ‘fighting’ Dan Levy – after being nominated in the same awards category

Paul Mescal has joked about fighting Schitt’s Creek star Dan Levy, after being nominated in the same awards category.

The Kildare native and the Canadian actor are nominated in the ‘Best Actor in a Series’ category at the 10th annual AACTA International Awards.

The awards ceremony will be hosted virtually in Los Angeles next month, before a highlights package of acceptance speeches is published on AACTA’s YouTube channel on March 5.

After the nominees were announced this week, Dan Levy shared a screenshot on his AACTA nominations on his Instagram Story.

The 37-year-old wrote: “Huge thank yous to @aacta for the nominations! I’m comin’ for ya, @paul.mescal!”

Paul, 25, then reposted Dan’s message, alongside the caption: “Fight to the death it is @instadanjlevy 🥊.”

The Normal People star added: “Thank you @aacta ❤️.”

Paul’s co-star Daisy Edgar-Jones is also nominated for ‘Best Actress in a Series’ at the AACTA International Awards, for her role as Marianne in the Irish drama.

The news comes after Paul was snubbed by the Golden Globes earlier this month, when they announced the nominees for this year’s awards show.

While Daisy was nominated in the Best Actress in a Limited Series category for her role in Normal People, the 25-year-old was excluded from the Best Actor in a Limited Series category.
