Paul Mescal and Daisy-Edgar Jones are to reunite for a virtual event next month.

The actors rose to fame following the success of the hit series Normal People, where they played the lead roles of Connell Waldron and Marianne Sheridan.

The stars were listed today on Screen’s Stars of Tomorrow 2020 – which is an annual showcase of some of the UK and Ireland’s biggest names in film and television.

The online event will take place next Monday, October 5 – and will see all of the 2020 Stars of Tomorrow take part in live conversations hosted by the Screen’s editor Matt Mueller and chief film critic Fionnuala Halligan.

Sharing the news on Instagram this morning, Paul wrote: “Thank you so much to @screendaily for including me in this years ‘stars of tomorrow’ list!

“It is an incredible honour and I’m in amazing company! Massive congratulations to everyone who was included x”

Screen editor Matt Mueller said of this year’s selection: “In this unusual year, it felt more important than ever to shine this spotlight on emerging UK and Irish talent, and we’re proud of the selection and excited to see the strides they take in their careers.”
