It’s a NO from Ireland! The X Factor’s Irish ratings plummet

It seems Irish fans are not switching on for The X Factor, as it has been revealed that the show’s ratings have plummeted.

The X Factor caused a frenzy in Ireland when the judges came over for the Irish auditions – but the ITV show, which airs on TV3 in Ireland, is not performing well on air.

The show is down a huge 14% since 2015, with thousands less people watching the show.

The X Factor is used to attracting audiences of over half a million in Ireland, but on Sunday night just 233,800 tuned in.

According to the Irish Sun, people were more interested in RTE’s Fair City, than tuning in to watch the final Judge’s Houses episode.

Despite 313,800 people tuning into TV3 for the launch of the X Factor with the ‘dream team’ of Louis Walsh, Sharon Osbourne, Nicola Scherzinger and Simon Cowell returning – it was still much less than the 398,200 who watched 2015’s first episode of the season.

Just three weeks after the debut episode of 2016, audiences dropped as low as 300,000.

Viewership is averaging 295,000 on Saturdays and 268,000 on Sundays.

Meanwhile, Louis previously slammed the show’s ratings for 2015 – and admitted that he was delighted they were so low.
