Nicky Byrne says goodbye to Barack Obama

Nicky Byrne has said goodbye to Barack Obama.

The 44th President of the United States will leave the Oval Office for one last time today as Donald Trump steps in to take over.

The 2FM presenter met Barack when his band Westlife jetted over to Norway in 2009 for their concert.

Nicky shared two throwback photos on his Twitter to say farewell to Barack’s term as president.

“Goodbye Barack Obama. What a man. Everybody’s president,” he wrote.

In the first photo he shared, Barack is in the middle of Nicky and his bandmates Shane Filan, Kian Egan and Markus Feehily.

The second photo was a bit more light-hearted and took a slight dig at Donald as the singer made a little joke.

“Looks like I’m saying, ‘Is there any chance at all you can stay on?'” he joked.

At the time of meeting Barack, Nicky told the Daily Mail that meeting the now 55-year-old was “an amazing experience to say the least.”

“He was very personable. As soon as we mentioned we were from Ireland he spoke of his Irish roots and said we should all go for a pint of Guinness together,” he revealed.

The presenter isn’t the only celebrity to be sad seeing Barack leave as Ellen Degeneres, who is famously close to the Obama family, also shared a touching tribute to his leave.
