Nicky Byrne has revealed that he would “love” a Westlife reunion.
Nicky, 39, expressed his excitement at the prospects of a reunion with the lads saying that he hopes that they would be up for it too.
“I would love to do a Westlife reunion and so would, I hope, the other lads too,” he told Goss.ie.
Nicky was speaking at the National Maternity Hospitals fundraising coffee morning for World Prematurity Day 2017, where he admitted that he would love to get back on stage on with the Westlife boys again.
“Who wouldn’t want to do that again, the laughs with the boys and seeing all the fans again so of course,” he admitted.
But the Westlife star did confess that the reunion rumors that started earlier this week by Louis Walsh, weren’t true just yet.
“There is no truth in it, ” Nicky told Goss.ie.
“We don’t have a record deal. . . but I’ve already heard labels that are interested, ” he revealed.
The 2FM radio co host admitted he wasn’t there when Louis made the announcement but he said that the knows what Louis is like and that he’ll do anything for a headline.
“I know what he’s like, someone must have said to him are Westlife coming back and he would been like I know it’s definitely going to happen, I don’t know when, but that’s what Louis does and it got a lot of ground so like yeah”.
“Genuinely the four of us haven’t been in a room since, it was a sad occasion, for Jodi’s mom’s funeral . . . and that’s a long time ago, ” he added.
Nicky also admitted although he would definitely love to do a reunion , the timing just isn’t right for him right now as his radio show, his television commitments and his family are his main priority right now.
“When is the question, like I wouldn’t love to do it now because I just have so much going on”.
“Genuinely I would need to consider what happens to the radio , can you take a sabbatical, can you come in on these days…but again that’s not even on the forefront of my mind at the moment, my main focus is to make this radio show the biggest it can be, dancing with the stars, family life, that’s it”.
“I know Jenny would never let me leave, you’re getting out of here in a box she says , ” he joked.
“Maybe in 10 years, maybe,” he laughed.
