Niall Horan feared going out socially due to 1D mania

Niall Horan has admitted that he feared going out socially at the height of his 1D fame.

The Mullingar native, who rose to fame with One Direction after appearing on The X Factor back in 2010, finally feels “normal” again – and admitted that travelling around Asia once 1D went on hiatus helped him get back to reality.

“I think the words finding yourself are a bit much but it’s along those lines.

“I’ve always been the sort that would stay in the house and not go out with the fear factor of not being able to eat without people asking to take photos and stuff like that,” he told his pal Eoghan McDermott on 2FM.

“Then I found that I could get away with a lot more – that trip made me feel like that.

“It was just me, you [Eoghan] two of my cousins and we just went out about our business like normal tourists and no one really noticed I was there, which I enjoyed.”

The 23-year-old also said that he now knows what he can and can’t do, which is a far cry from his days in One Direction.

“I won’t be hiding away from another trip like that because it really made me understand what I can and can’t do,” he added.
