Niall Horan in tears over fear that One Direction will split over drugs fallout

Niall Horan has been left in tears over fears that One Direction will split after members of the band were filmed allegedly smoking marijuana.

Last week, a leaked video showed Louis Tomlinson and Zayn Malik smoking what appeared to be an illegal substance.

Now One Direction are allegedly at breaking point after a confrontation between the band – with half the group no longer talking.

“At times, they’re hardly talking backstage. Liam, Harry and Niall are worried about losing fans – they’re also nervous the scandal might affect their success in America,” an insider told Closer.

“It’s Zayn and Louis against the others – Harry, Liam and Niall are furious. They had a dramatic meeting last week and Harry was the first to lash out, telling them they’d messed everything up.

“But Zayn turned it around on Harry and accused him of only being interested in himself. Poor Niall has been in tears – he’s worried this could be the end of the band.”

Meanwhile, Niall and the band could be forced to take a drugs test during the Asian leg of One Direction’s world tour.

Officials in the Philippines said they want the band to take the tests at Manila airport when they arrive.

Founder of the Laban ng Pamilyang Pilipino group Jonathan Morales said it would be the only way they wouldn’t campaign against One Direction.

“If they want to have their concert here in the Philippines, they must have a drug test as they arrive at the NAIA in front of the Anti-Drugs Advocate and the media,” the Star newspaper reported him as saying.

“They should allow Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency to monitor their movements before and while they are conducting a concert, to ensure that they are not under the influence of illicit drugs.”

It comes as Simon Cowell spoke out and backed One Direction, insisting the scandal wouldn’t end their career.

He said: “They are the hardest working boys I’ve ever worked with and they still haven’t changed – they’re really respectful to the fans, they’re hard working. I hope the fans stay loyal.”
